Elevated Ed Tech
Guiding teachers as they ascend to the next ed tech level.

Passion Projects

 TOSAChat
www.tosachat.org
TOSAChat is a weekly Twitter chat on Monday nights at 8 pm PST. I am one of the co-founders and am incredibly proud of the online community of TOSAs (Teachers on Special Assignment) that we've built. This chat was started by myself and three other individuals (Ben Cogswell, Karly Moura, and Joe Young) who felt there was an incredibly need for a chat specifically for TOSAs but a community as well. Over the last 2 1/2 years, this community has grown to almost 6 thousand educators who follow the @tosachat twitter handle. As a team, we've presented at conferences and had community meet-ups at local events to build an even stronger community. Our leadership team is currently up to six individuals, including the original four members and our newest moderators, Ariana Flewelling and Jody Green.
Ed Tech Confessions
http://bit.ly/edtechconfessions
EdTechConfessions is a podcast created by myself, Ann Kozma and Cynthia Nixon. This podcast was based on a concept I had during one of the weekly TOSAChat chats. I realized many people, including EdTech coaches are afraid to admit when they don't know how to do something. So out blossumed EdTechConfessions. We created this podcast for educators to learn about products and tools. We always have someone who has a 'confession' about a product and we answer their question and share our favorite tips and tricks in a short podcast.

This project is one of my favorites at the moment because I absolutely adore the other two women who work with me on it and I think our friendship shines through our podcasts.

Sites I Created

Here are a few other sites that I built and maintain for Lake Tahoe Unified School District:

http://ltusdedtech.org
This is my 'working' ed tech site where I put current training information. I try to get information out to teachers in multiple platforms including the ed tech blog and this website just to reach as many teachers as possible at whatever platform their comfortable with and currently using.

http://tech.ltusd.org
This is the homepage for all our K-8 students. It was originally worked up by one of the teachers in the district and I've re-worked it to make the icons easier to see on a dark background and on a 11 inch screen without scrolling since all our students have chromebooks. It's not a layout I'm personally in love with but I was trying to maintain what the teacher did originally did as she has some attachment to it.
